University of Vermont
UVM Medical Center’s Level I Trauma Center offers a six-year general surgery residency program that includes five clinical years and one surgical research year between the second and third clinical years. Surgery residency rotations are designed to provide experience in preoperative, operative, and postoperative care for patients in all general surgery areas. UVM physicians give general surgical residents substantial surgical exposure preparing them for careers in general surgery or surgical fellowship training.
