The Association for Academic Surgery (AAS) and the Society of University Surgeons (SUS) again have again solicited proposals for the 2019 Academic Surgical Congress Hot Topics Symposia. These one-hour programs will address a current topic in surgery that is of broad interest to the discipline. These sessions are tentatively scheduled to take place during the three lunch sessions during the Congress (Tues, February 5; Wed, February 6; and Thurs, February 7).
Submissions will be graded on timeliness, significance and innovation of topic matter, and uniqueness of presentation style (novel and interactive approaches are highly encouraged). Initial submissions will be graded by the members of the core committee of the ASC (consisting of of the leadership of the AAS and SUS), and the most promising proposals will be offered the chance to submit a more detailed (2-3 page) proposals in June.
