James C. Lee, MD, MBBS, FRACS, PhD
James is an academic endocrine surgeon at The Alfred and Monash Health in Melbourne. His research interest is in the discovery of molecular biomarkers to improve the diagnosis and prognosis of thyroid cancer on FNA samples. James received the Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Sydney for his thesis on the miRNA biomarkers of papillary thyroid cancer. James was awarded the RACS Foundation for Surgery Senior Lecturer Fellowship for 2017 – 18. His current research is also supported by the Epworth Research Institute and philanthropic grants.
As the Younger Fellows Representative on the RACS Section of Academic Surgery (SAS) Committee, James has been the Convenor of the RACS Academic Meetings since 2014. James is also passionate about research training for the next generation of surgeons. He is the director of the RACS-accredited, Monash University course “Surgical Research Essentials (SuRE)”. With this intensive course, James hopes to provide surgical trainees, residents and medical students the foundation skills needed to kick start their research

YS Shan has completed his MD in 1993. After the residency training in the Department of Surgery, National Cheng Kung University Hospital, Tainan, Taiwan, he also got the PhD in 2004 from National Cheng Kung University. He was pointed to establish and be the 1st director of Division of Trauma (2011~2016.7) and the 1st UGI cancer team convener (2010~2017 12) in National Cheng Kung University Hospital. Now, he is the distinguished professor and chief of the Institute of Clinical Medicine, NCKU, director of the Clinical Medicine Research Center and professor of surgery of Department of Surgery, NCKUH. He has published more than 120 papers in reputed journals and has been serving as several editorial board member of repute. Recent years, he devoted in the translational study of biliary tract cancer, pancreatic cancer, gastric cancer and GIST. He also performed several IIT and attended international trials in stomach, biliary, and pancreatic cancer. Since 2017 May, he also got the grant support from MOST to be the PI of TCTC-UGI group in Taiwan. He was also nominated as member council of Asian-Ocean Pancreatic Association (AOPA) in 2018.

Dr. Cordoba Chamorro graduated from the. Universidad del Rosario. Bogotá. Colombia, is a specialist in General Surgery at the Universidad del Rosario. Bogotá. Colombia; Specialist in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery at the Universidad CES, Medellín, Colombia; Chief of Laparoscopy and Obesity Surgery at the Hospital de San José, Bogotá, Colombia. She is Assistant Professor of Surgery of the Fundación Universitaria de Ciencias de la Salud Hospital de San José, Bogotá, Colombia. In addition to her appointments, she is a member of the Colombian Association of Surgery, Colombian Association of Bariatric Surgery, International Federation of Obesity Surgery IFSO, and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
