For as long as MD Anderson has existed, it has focused on one thing and one thing only: eradicating cancer.
The phrase “Making Cancer History” was first used in 1996 and has since become a powerful rallying cry for the organization. It’s simple in wording but complex in meaning. It says that we work day in and day out to eliminate cancer, both individual
cases and the disease at large. It serves as the brand tagline and appears in the logo.
It’s a hugely meaningful purpose and one we continue to work toward in
everything we do every single day.
